So, here’s a little bit about my paintings: When I was 10, I walked through the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and pointing at a famous painting, I told my mom, “I’m going to do that.” Of course, life sometimes has different plans, taking me into business, running a wellness and healing center and back to school for furniture design. I began painting again as a way to get to the core of my passions and purpose in life, then discovered that painting is the way.
To me, painting is an intuitive process. The process itself, of laying layers of paint, is healing, insightful and metaphoric of all of life. Although I plan some paintings, usually when starting a painting, I lay a foundation of several analogous colors then look to see what shows up. Bright colors are layered on to bring out the joy and fun and define the figures until it is complete. The figures represent the interconnectedness of all people—the love, joy, peace, hope and wholeness that is at the core of all, once we strip away all the fear and suffering. My figurative images serve to capture the things that are common to all humans and are purposefully generic to encompass all races and features.
I seek to create a transformational art experience that creates an energetic field that uplifts and inspires one to live their best life. These paintings are created to capture the base humanness and connectedness of how we are all truly one human race. Viewing these images and entering their energetic field, I believe, can propel one to heal both physically and emotionally and create the clarity to live your best life.
If you would like to know more about any of these paintings, send me an email and I’ll forward you more information about the pieces.
